The rumors swirling around Michael Jackson's funerals continue. The latest news has a public ceremony in Neverland on Friday, followed by a likely private burial ceremony on Sunday--the site to be determined. The religion of Jackson at his death remains in question, although there are some indications that he may receive a Muslim funeral.
Eminent Muslim leaders are eager to welcome the King of Pop among their ranks. Here are some statements from well-known American Muslim leaders.
Shaykh Hamza Yusuf of the Zaytuna Institute:
"Given Michael’s reported conversion to Islam last year, Muslims count him as one of our own, and we pray that he can finally find the peace he never found in this world and that he is in a place, God willing, of mercy, forgiveness, and solace." [Full statement]

"I gave a khutbah at a masjid yesterday, the second half of which was dedicated to the passing away of Michael Jackson." [Full statement]
I think most of Muslims confused between him and his brother, that's all.

I know he is a king of pop and all that, but come on :).
btw people seems to be happy when some one they love convert to there religion because (like every one) they see that there religion are the right one, then they hope every one can join heaven.
I am a Muslim and I believe that my religion is the right one, then I will be glad that MJ died a Muslim man, simple is that.
Relax he will be remembered as black American guy :) and every one loved him as he is.

ReplyDeleteMuslims should do nothing but celebrate the very idea of MJ to be one of their own.
There was enough Muslim influence around him for him to have been a Muslim, and we should have enough faith in God to believe that he bestowed mercy on another human being to save him from eternal damnation. I am applauded by fellow Muslims who are spending every waking moment to try to prove him to be non-Muslim, no one is benefiting from it. Why the hate?
